Governance and parliamentary systems have always played a crucial role in organizing and managing societies throughout history. Even ancient civilizations, like those in Mesopotamia and Egypt, had early forms of governance to maintain order and justice among people. A well-organized parliamentary system helps bring voices together and make collective decisions that reflect the spirit of the civilization.
As societies grew, their systems of governance also evolved, effectively combining efficient administration with the inclusive participation of their citizens. It’s crucial to comprehend, preserve, and, when possible, revitalize these historical examples of governance.
This article takes you through the rich history and stunning architecture of Arcadia’s Parliament, which we are incorporating into our virtual reconstruction of Arcadia.
While exploring the Great Empire, we encountered an area adorned with elegantly imposing structures. Unlike other buildings previously discovered in Arcadia, these structures intriguingly remained intact. They had not succumbed to the elements and still appeared brand new, prompting us to delve deeper into investigating this area. The vegetation here appeared meticulously manicured, almost as though someone had been tending to the gardens consistently, despite the improbability of such a scenario.
Inscriptions on the building walls unveiled this area as the location of ancient Arcadia’s governance. Additional evidence discovered within the district revealed how an Arcadian general named Drew transformed the world’s governance system. He introduced a book of governance, which brought an enhanced structure, fairness, and inclusivity for all Arcadians to the governance system. This new regime offered every Arcadian a voice, regardless of their social background, thereby terminating Arcadia’s infamously corrupt parliamentary system.
Due to the pristine condition of the buildings, we decided not to repurpose, enhance, or alter their appearance and original function. Instead, we applied polymer sleeves merely to preserve their historical and structural integrity. Furthermore, we are incorporating Arcadia’s parliament into our virtual reconstruction, dubbing it “The People’s District.” This will serve as a gathering place for human-controlled avatars, sylis, and arins to engage in the governance of Arcadia, following the same democratic system introduced by General Drew. Humans will partake through our virtual representation of Arcadia. Here, they can purchase their parliament seats (Councilors, Lower House, Upper House, and Cabinet), which will require annual renewal. We’ve diligently replicated every element of Arcadia’s ancient parliament within our virtual Arcadia, and we’re offering a tour to showcase our design of the virtual parliament:
The Parliament of Arcadia symbolizes control, order, and equality, and its design reflects these values. It combines great architecture with a fair and just democratic system, which we plan to follow in our virtual reconstruction, offering all parliamentarians an immersive and equal experience when governing the world
