Our Department of History and Natural Sciences researchers have made considerable progress on the sixth part of the ‘Tale of Mulgarath.’ Here is another excerpt of their work so far.

Tensions escalated as the dwarves grasped their axes and hammers, readying themselves for combat. It became clear that this would not be a conventional conversation.

The Start of Hatred- continued

Therrigg scolded Mulgarath, “Your behavior is inappropriate. It is not the proper time or place for this. Keep your composure, or you will bring upon yourself Jord’s wrath.” He firmly held his war ax as he spoke, prepared to defend himself if necessary.

Malnus interjected, “Perhaps it would be best if you simply turned around and left as if you had never been here. You have not even demonstrated basic politeness by introducing yourself. Who do you think you are, barging in here uninvited and treating us with such disrespect?”

Mulgarath spoke firmly, “I am Mulgarath, and you would be wise to remember my name. If you persist in disrespect, I shall remove your heads from your short, stumpy bodies. The Longstone line will then be extinguished. Now, step aside and let me pass. My destiny will not be denied.”

Malnus sneered, “If you take another step, your destiny will end here at the hands of us dwarves.” He hoisted his hammer and readied himself for battle, his muscles tensing as he awaited Mulgarath’s next move. Malnus attempted to threaten and belittle Mulgarath, yet his efforts were fruitless and only further incited Mulgarath’s rage.

Both sides were equally frustrated. As more dwarves emerged from the chamber, Mulgarath realized he was heavily outnumbered and had no chance of victory. He began to retreat, only to realize there was no escape. This generated more hatred inside him toward the dwarves and escalated his feelings of their unjust treatment toward him.
